Styling this dress for a party?

I've only ever worn this dress for work. I really like it but don't get much wear out of it, especially now I work from home a lot. Do you think I could dress it up a bit and wear it to a party? Not sure what jacket/shoes would make it look less work like - what do you think?

Hmm … Grin

Honestly? It’s a perfectly nice dress but the shape and proportions - nothing exaggerated, nothing deliberately of the moment - do suggest ‘work dress’.

So definitely don’t add a blazer type jacket if you want it to look like party wear.

The only thing I can think of is swapping the fabric belt for a wonderfully retro metal chain belt, with similar shoes. And filling the neckline with chains!

I agree with all of this including the belt swap.

I think you could jazz it up for a party - I would go with big red earrings/accessorie of some sort and maybe even red shoes too and then a leather jacket.

Party hair and makeup will make it look different too.

I think it could be really nice for a party. I would go for a colour pop with it so some bright shoes, bright handbag and chunky jewellery. Maybe a red shoes and a red lip?

I think it would look lovely with the different belt as suggested.

Tons of jewellery, hair up and a load of make-up will make anything fit for a party! Oh yes, and silver trainers!

Its a work dress or dog walking/casual lunch at pub not party

You could totally transform it into a 70s or 80s revival dress with the right belt and heels. Wish you lived near me - there's an excellent vintage shop which would be all over that it you took the dress in!
