Long sleeved ‘day to night’ dress for work event

Got a work do coming up in June - large meeting, followed by dinner in evening. I have many self-harms scars that I don’t feel comfortable showing in a work context, but I’m having trouble finding a long-sleeved dress that won’t look OTT during the day or underdressed in the evening! Any suggestions/advice, please? Size 14 - I look swamped in maxi/midi dresses and rarely wear black. Thank you!

@Wtfidiot

I would wear a black with lace sleeves add Jewellery after work
That's a good idea. Any dark coloured dress with lace sleeves will work.

There is a good choice from boden/hobbs

If you like feminine/ girly stuff(I do) Hobbs and Boden are the go to for this type of query but they are both out of OP's budget unless in sale. I'm getting ads for Boden sale at the moment.

Pressed too soon - meant to say it is a shame they aren't better known as they are such a simple solution to a problem - I have a mild skin condition so like full length coverage and it means I am less restricted in what I can wear.

Try looking on Never Fully Dressed they do some beautiful dresses.

Or as a pp suggested go onto ASOS and use the filters Smile

If you have good legs a blazer dress would work . Day you wear it as a blazer and in the evening wear it as a mini with lots of jewellery

A few options

No 5 is great. Quite like 2and 4

Might be too long, but at 5’6 you are quite tall.
