Skirts and tights...help!

I've done that classic thing of not changing my style much since my teens/20s then suddenly entered my 30s a few years ago, came out of lockdown and had no idea what to wear!

As a teen I used to wear a lot of the classic above the knee A line skirts/blouse or jumoer combo with black tights. I followed that into my 20s but since being early 30s I feel it doesn't work anymore. If I wear a skirt above the knee I feel a bit childish like a 6 year old going to a party. If I wear something knee level I feel frumpy and unfashionable with my black tights. Same for dresses.

Side information

  • I much prefer dresses/skirts to jeans. I also quite like cropped/above ankle trousers but not a fan of the wide leg that's in atm.
  • I'm 5 foot 2 and normally size 6/8
  • I've toyed with the idea of midi skirts with 20 denier tights, heeled boots and a jumper but just don't know where to start.

Can anyone please help a small person in their early 30s dress properly please Grin.

You could try some of the more petite bloggers on Instagram for Inspiration? I follow stealmystyle40 - sometimes I like what she's wearing, sometimes not but I've bought some nice pieces. Might be a little old for you - but it'll suggest other people to you.

Alternatively everyone here seems to recommend getting a personal shopper at John Lewis or similar and letting them style you!

Thank you, I've just had a look at the page and her style is nice, lots of jeans though but still plenty of other things for inspiration.

Just bumping this Smile
