Plain black vest tops

Hi all

I spend all summer in plain black vest tops and this year I just cannot find any to suit.

The batch I bought a few years back have all died at once - can you help me find some more?

Ideally, scoop front and back, straps wide enough to cover bra - so not spaghetti - but not wide wide. Probably 1.5cm.

I have bought these previously in H&M and once I think from People Tree. This year - nada. Budget probably up to £20 for one but ideally a lot less.

I don’t want to buy a two pack with another colour
I don’t want lace edging or rubbing
I don’t want a high back - I have issues with eczema so less coverage, and flat smooth fabric in hot weather is important

Can anyone recommend anything?

Matalan usually have them in loads of colours and different strap styles. Uniqlo have them sometimes too.

Honestly the best ones ever are Primark, i have bought them from there in forever

Got some from both Primark and H&M last week

They have some for £8 on asos. I have the same issue - H&M are selling a 2 pack with one black and one white, but I don’t want white ones, top shop used to be good but is now gone and asos are so random - they will have 300 but strappy or high backed or turtle neck or ballooning out at the bottom. I’ve had some ok ones from sainsburys in the past .

I got one in every colour from Matalan last year. £4 each. You can choose normal length or long line, which comes down over my hips.

I’ve got the Matalan vests, £3 each, perfect shape, smooth material and wash really well.

Matalan is your friend. I bought some in their Black Friday sale at £2.40 each.

I have previously bought M&S and H&M. M&S material has changed and is not as nice. H&M quality is very very variable.

Asos - the ones the looked best are great but bloody cropped, no
Primark - oddly trapeze shape, horrible light and clingy fabric, no
Matalan - wider straps than I’d like but good fabric, bought three
Wildcard - I visited my SIL and told her what I was after and she showed me one she’s just bought from Next online. Practically perfect, definitely the best of the bunch! I’ve bought five. Lesson learnt - I am not a shopper so I will ask her first next time to save visiting actual shops!

Sent mine back today. The model had them tucked into her jeans so v disappointed. I’ve found some in Tesco but could only get 2 (one twin pack)
