"Dad" trainers

This is for the people that love a chunky trainer.
I know they divide opinion, I know they are quite ugly - but I like that.

I want some that are comfy (on my ridiculous high-arched feet) and somewhat cool, but I don't want them to look too 'of the moment' like Fila or Buffalo that are doing the rounds again on the young people.

I'm looking at New Balance 990, Air max 90 and Veja Venturi...
New Balance have the tagline "worn by supermodels in London and Dads in Ohio". Whilst I'm geographically closer to the former, in looks and lifestyle, I'm probably closer to the latter

Anyone any experience of these, or other contenders?

ASICS is top dad runner.

I have Hoff Java and love them. Very comfy. I don't think they are particularly chunky though.

@EllaPaella, no I think you're right, the javas aren't especially, but I like the look of them, so they are on the list!

I have several pairs of Nike air max 90s. I love them. Very comfortable and go with many different outfits.

Nope. I see them on everyone now who I know do absolutely no running. I do have them for running, but I bought the ones that are specific for my gait/style of running. I did really want the Cloud Swift for everyday wear but they are actually labelled as for "everyday wear" so I couldn't use them for running too, shame
