Has anyone managed to actually lift their bum with at-home exercise??

Have you managed it and if so, tell me how please!!

I am feeling really down on myself at the moment. The end of a v v long term relationship has left me feeling sad about my appearance.

I don't have any spare money for the usual things like clothes or make up etc.

My bum used to be my best feature, but age has made it flatter and sag a bit and I have hip dips.

I am hoping to 'lift' it at home with exercise, but will it work? my core muscles are shot and my form is terrible. Do I need a gym membership or personal trainer or can I do this at home?

My PT is all about strengthening glutes. If you want strong, toned glutes you need to lift heavy at the gym.

Hip thrusts, cable kickbacks, split squats etc.

It takes work, body weight and resistance bands aren't enough unfortunately.

Split squats need to target your glutes, not your quads. I do mine with dumb bells as well.

If you have your knee too far forward it'll target quads, your knee needs to be in line with toes to target your glutes.

You need hip thrusts with a barbell and weights.

I only do Pilates at home @allotmentinthegarden
Look up some easy videos to ease into it. Lots of five minute workouts.

Looks like you've had lots of better advice!

I only started squats very recently, and found them surprisingly difficult to do (I think I was possibly afraid of falling on the 'sitting' part). I think I'm slightly better at them, and they've helped my plié, the heels can stay down longer, if that makes sense.

Thank you so much everyone.

@MapleMay11 How do you do them correctly please?? It just puts strain on my knees and front of thighs

i totally transformed my body working out w maria khoreva during covid

I've used that very upper arms and back Maria Khoreva workout @tzarine Though I like my hand weights with Pilates arms exercises best.

She's also a wonderful dancer (aside). Her full stretch videos are very good (but not for me!) I use something much more basic.
