Best shape of jeans- fed up of skinnies, short and big of tum

I'm 5'2 and have been in a rut of skinny jeggings but have put weight on and now look awful. I've a pair of Levi's shaping skinnies which are "ok" and I like the way skinnies look with folded up hems and silver trainers or boots look, but not with my new, menopausal fat gut 😞.
I'm away for a few days soon and bought a nice petite dress for evening but daytime sightseeing ? I need some jeans and jumper / top/ or something else I can wear with comfy shoes when it'll be cold. I'm maybe better with all dresses? I look hateful in a jumpsuit.
What jeans suit a pear/ apple tendencies with short legs? Size 14. Or can you recommend a daytime outfit for a chubby lady?

There's a whole chat on dressing for menopausal middles!
I've recently bought Hush 'mom' jeans and feel much happier. They are high rise abs designed for tucked in tops and give a nice aesthetic of a defined waist - previously had skinnies ( stretch ones especially unflattering) or boyfriend Jeans they sat under my gut unflatteringly!

Ooh is there? I'll have to try and find it ....

I like relaxed fit, straight leg. I got some really good ones from Morrisons of all places.

I’m loving the ‘mom’ jeans too. Generally high waist but not too tight, looser legs but not too loose. Just right and a nice change from a skinny and look good with trainers.
