Find my wedding dress- maternity edition

I had a thread about this a few months ago, and now I have a date Grin as many posters asked what season. I hope some of you can help me!

It’s in June. I’ll be 9 months pregnant and ready to drop. I’m a booby, maternity size 12 and 5 foot 3- but I can get anything altered for length so doesn’t need to be petite.

I’ve seen some nice ones on Tiffany Rose and Seraphine but I’m not going to wear it again, and I’ll resent spending 200-300 when that could go on nice non maternity wear.

I don’t want to spend over £150. It doesn’t have to be white- pink, mink, champagne, even shocking pink, all good.

Needs to be below the knee- non negotiable.

Thank you for all your help- I think I find something nice and then the reviews say that it is shite, see through or too tight round the boobs. Confused

Oh and it’s in a registry office- nothing fancy!

Beautiful dresses but the reviews concern me when it comes to the fit- I’m going to be massive and they seem to come up small.

Unless heavily elasticated I think you'll find it a struggle to get something that fits you perfectly in 3-4 months time. I'd find something that you love now and then buy it a few sizes up and factor in the cost of taking it to a seamstress

I got one from boohoo for my wedding, it was a bridesmaid dress and sooo cheap as I got it in the sale but actually fit really well. Like you I didn't want to spend a lot of money.

A fun slightly less formal option for a registry office

Can I recommend these amazing dresses by a local designer. She rents them out and you can buy them as well. They are stunning. www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1161877495/travelling-dress-aria-rental-dress-boho?click_key=7d1b8cbd78995d797b27dd17a58a6d7b261efc2c%3A1161877495&click_sum=79c81d28&ref=shop_home_active_7

Beautiful dresses but unfortunately rental won’t work for me. If it’s a maxi style they’d be too long for me to wear Sad

OP I know you don't want to spend £££ but be mindful it could be very hot in June and you may be massive at 9 months. Think about the fabric and bra situation carefully. I lot of my maternity clothes had a high level of stretch in them / made from manmade fibres and they were unbearably hot. I found it tough going.

I’m only going to have it on for a couple of hours- so as long as it looks nice in photos, I’m ok Smile wedding is 9am so should miss the glaring sun.

We’re having our big wedding next year. This is just our paperwork ceremony to make us a legal family before baby is born.

Going to wear my cheap dress then head out for breakfast with two witnesses. I’ll be in loungewear by 1pm!

My legs are way too fat for any of those at the moment. I have lipedema and pregnancy weight gain has given me rolls around my knees Blush I need something past the knee.

Beautiful dresses though, thank you for replying!

I would buy a Seraphine dress you like and then sell it for 50% of the original price. Seraphine is a well known brand, you will have trouble reselling it

Fitterbyfifty · 04/04/2022 16:51

Be careful of shoes too. I got married while pregnant and realised on the morning of our wedding party (wedding was actually 2 weeks before) that suddenly there was no way my shoes would fit! Still cringe now when I look at the photos of my horrible shoes with the lovely dress!

Very good point. It’ll be flip flops underneath!
