What’s best for covering grey roots between colour sessions?

I’m a natural brunette, now a natural grey. I have masses of hair, which is being turned ash blonde over the last 2 years. I had to start this as it’s so grey and grows so fast. A good centimetre every 3/4 weeks. So the re growth is very obvious very quickly. That’s why I had to go blonde.
But you can still see regrowth. I hate those green can spray things you spray on the roots. The blonde one is a really brassy yellow, yuk!
What do you use to cover up in between, please?

I used to use something called tween times which is a crayon type thing but I'm not sure if you can still get them. I use the spray and as I have roots done every 4-5 weeks I only need it for the last week or so between. I use magic retouch now.

I'm pretty sure I've tried them all.

The sprays/powders/pens etc just feel horrible on my scalp and make me feel "dirty" constantly.

Some even make me feel itchy.

The only compromise I've found to work is the 5 minute root touch up from Nice n Easy. It's perfect and it works.
