Alternative Wedding Dress

So we've been engaged for literal YEARS. Babies, Covid and more babies have meant we're now.on our fourth date.

I still love the big Maggie Sottero ballgown I bought almost 5 years ago but the older wiser me knows now it's completely impractical, super heavy and will be impossible to dance in. And after so long, I want to dance the night away!

So I'm considering a second dress for after the meal, budget is approx 300 as have already spent a silly amount on THE Dress, would like something floor length, a bit flouncy, deffo a bit dramatic, must have low neck for the boobs (I look very matronly with a high neck) and suit a size 16 hourglass figure. Most important of all must be easy to dance in! I'd like a nod to bridal so maybe white/gold/silver but also open to options!

Any ideas? Attached is my current shortlist but 2 are slightly over budget and the silver sequins feels a little plain (I know I know!!) Thanks everyone!

Go for Marches a dress if you can afford it. It is light and floaty and beautiful. It will look dressy enough and stunning after the formal dress. You will absolutely be able to reuse it too.

Have a look at www.sexyher.co.uk

Some beautiful evening dresses, decent prices & nice quality. Bought both dds prom dresses from there online & couldn't fault them.

Ooh I love the one in the first picture

packedlunches · 30/03/2022 10:22

The Marchesa one is my favourite

SantanaBinLorry · 30/03/2022 10:32

first one is lovely

Fernsinthegarden · 30/03/2022 10:40

The first dress you posted a pic of is absolutely gorgeous!

packedlunches · 30/03/2022 10:47

Sorry I've just realised the second dress is also Marchesa! So to make it clearer, the first dress is my favourite! Beautiful x

SoupDragon · 30/03/2022 10:50

I think the first one looks like the dress worn by one of those toilet roll dolls.

I love the third one though!

LittleGwyneth · 30/03/2022 17:31

Buy the cream Marchessa one. You've had to postpone your wedding multiple times, you deserve something absolutely wonderful to wear. Plus it's not so bridal that you'd be unable to wear it again.

TrixIrl · 30/03/2022 21:17

Thanks ladies, all the support for the Marchesa has me very nearly convinced, just have to justify the spend but perhaps I'll order it just in case haha, thank you again!

I absolutely love the second dress. Really fabulous.

ImAvingOops · 30/03/2022 22:17

I really like the second. The first reminds me of one of those loo roll covers. Sorry

FuzzyPuffling · 31/03/2022 08:01

The first one looks ( to me) as though someone thought " I'll make a nice dress. Oooh too short, I'll add another tier. Nope, still too short. Still too short.....etc)

IdontPracticeSanteria · 31/03/2022 08:21

Second dress!

bonfireheart · 31/03/2022 11:31

Do you have a pic of the dress you've already bought OP?

The first dress is gorgeous.

Alfiemoon1 · 31/03/2022 11:36

Personally I prefer the 3 rd dress

GettingMarriedAgain · 31/03/2022 18:04

Someone suggested this one to me when I was looking recently - not quite as dramatic as your first one but rather lovely and I suspect somewhat cheaper!
