Packing for holiday.

Hi, we are going to Turkey next week and I'm trying to pack but it always makes me so anxious and I've got way to much stuff in my case already!! Going for 2 weeks, the hotel has water parks and a beach so swimming things are a must but also want to do some day trips to Roman ruins etc. It'll be around 22° and 12° at night, maybe slightly warmer but not by much. I'm sharing a case with my 9yo so not got masses of room. How many shoes/shorts/dresses/jackets /trousers etc would you take? I'm planning on wearing a jacket, jeans and trainers on the plane to save room in the case.
Thank you 😊. I tell myself every year not to get so worked up about it but can't seem to help it!

I am a dress person so not very helpful
Just been on holiday and took 8 dresses 4 swimsuits 2 beach cover ups and underwear
I take a mixture of day and evening dresses or some that would do either!
Since I gave up separated life became simpler!

Like the idea of dresses/ one peice, I think I will try that this year when I go to menorca, a selection of dresses, playsuits and jumpsuits.

Perpetualstateofchaos · 29/03/2022 21:16

I do a mixture my plan for July is 2 playsuit a jumpsuit 4 bikinis 3 shorts 2 light trousers and some tops undecided on that yet. 2 cover ups and 3 dresses I can dress up or down. Shoes will be my downfall. I know ill end up packing way more though but dc are old enough to pull suitcases Grin

We've just got back from a 7 night long haul beach holiday. Had a couple of half days sightseeing.
I wore:
3 dresses
1 maxi dress
1 skirt
1 pair of shorts
4 t-shirts
2 tops
4 bikinis
Long beach cover up- like a sheer dress
2 sandals
1 flip flops
Sunhats
Underwear
1 Summer jacket (barely wore it)
All the toiletries, hair accessories etc took up a good quarter of my case.
I wore jogging bottoms on the flight (nice ones), with a t-shirt, long sleeve t-shirt, thin jumper. Never wore them again until I came back.

Thank you everyone! I think I probably should have booked a second case. My 9yo has size 7 feet so his shoes are taking up a big chunk of room 😅. I love the dress idea. I have some newish shorts though so taking them and going to take some neutral tops that I can mix n match. I'll probably pack and unpack several times before next week anyway 😆

Cheap on eBay and Amazon

Surely the kid only needs trainers (wear on plane) & sandals?

Couple of dresses, shorts, T-shirts. You always need less than you might think.
