I need a new handbag!

I carry a lot of crap with me every day: A4 size notepad, iPad, charger, makeup bag, usually a book to read on train, water bottle, travel mug and lots of small bits and pieces. I ditched handbags completely over the past few months and carried it all in a backpack.
I’m done with it though, I want a gorgeous handbag that can fit it all in and that won’t look stupid on my shoulder. I am quite tall and I always feel that straps/handles are too short. I need the bag to be smart-ish, budget is ideally under £300 but could stretch to £500. Any recommendations? TIA

I have a handbag with double straps so you can wear as backpack or shoulder bag. It's from all saints. Lasted years, great quality leather.

Take a look at Longchamp or the John Lewis website as they have an excellent selection of brands and a good filter option.
I used a Mulberry Elgin with an organise when I worked and loved it.

I also need a new bag. I am bored of my little cross body bag with stripy strap.

A while ago there was a thread where people said they 'didn't get' bags and loads of people who were obsessed by bags came on to defend them. Hoping some of those bag ladies might come on this thread and advise!

Another vote for Longchamp. I'm a recent convert but imagine there will be several more coming into my life in the next few years! Excellent bags.

Longchamp Le Pliage. Elegant, practical and amazing value

What about this….

Lovely colour for Spring and £100 off at the moment.

I really like that Kate Spade one! Longchamp looks very practical but I’m not convinced about the fabric. I have bad experience with non-leather bags where stitching gives in after a while but I suppose that’s an issue with overall quality.
Thank you for all the suggestions!

Michael Kors. Mine has lasted forever and still looks good as new.
