Dressy trainers for all day walking

I'm going to New York in June and looking for comfortable trainers that I can walk in all day and suitable for wearing with dresses as it will be hot. I'm ruling out vans and cons for being flat so not great for hours of walking. Does anyone have suggestions for me.

I wear a pair of Nike's, they're pretty trainer-ish but they're white which as far as I can see is in fashion and tbh sportier trainers seem to be being worn by youngsters.

Nothing beats my Merrell walking shoes for hours of trudging through, but they are definitely not dressy!

The other shoes I have walked miles and miles in (which sounds absurd but they are really comfy) is a pair of fabric rocket dog flip flops.

If you really want comfort for all day walking, get thee to a Skechers shop and pick some Arch Fit Trainers.

Fitflop Rallys? No one's going to mistake you for Alexa Chung in them but under the circumstances I think they're a decent compromise between your two requirements.

New Balance or Nike Daybreak.

I second this recommendation, very comfortable and supportive.. I have 2 pairs and walked miles in them in NYC.

New balance for me too when I visited NY but they no longer stock the pair I bought. Honestly the lightest softest footwear which I felt went with everything.

I bought some white Adidas last year. I’ve walked loads In them. Super comfy.

I agree with you about converse. I went to Rome and took converse, worst decision ever. Threw them away and bought white sketchers. They were amazing!!!!

Veja Venturi's for me. I wear them pretty much 7 days a week and usually do 20,000 steps a day.

I have some plainish Nikes in a muted pink sort of colour that I think look OK for walking and with shortish dresses, but if I had my time again I'd get white ones - I think that would look even better.

I’ve just bought some for a NYC trip in a few weeks. I got some Allbirds Treepipers, have been wearing them this week, no breaking in required. I’m confident they will do the trick.
