Please help me find a hen do outfit!

Hi everyone,

It's my hen do in a couple of weeks and I've got nothing to wear and am getting stressed trying to find something!

The dress code is 'comfy for the day, no need to be overly dressed up for the evening' so obviously a casual vibe, but I still want to look nice!

I've put on a bit of weight and so am a bit self conscious and feeling like nothing looks nice on me anymore. I carry my weight massively in my middle and so can look very boxy, especially as I'm also short.

I also have issues with what footwear I can wear due to collapsed arches.

I am just at a loss. If anything this casual easy dress code seems more difficult than being told to dress up to the nines!

I'd probably go for Lulu Lemon leggings, a v-neck black t-shirt, trainers and a baseball cap during the day, with a jumper to tie around my waist. If that feels too casual I'd do a great pair of jeans with white trainers and a white t-shirt, gold hoop earrings, layered gold necklaces, maybe still the baseball cap but I'm very into them at the moment.

Evening is trickier but I'd probably look for a short-ish floaty dress on ASOS to wear with wedges for the evening. You've probably got good legs if you carry your weight in your middle.

Whatever you do if you're feeling a bit meh about yourself I'd probably get a spray tan / start building up a gradual tan now (I quite like the skinny tan gradual tan), I feel like that always makes me look better. And a blow-dry before you go, if you can manage it, again always makes me feel more polished.

I'd be wearing coated jeans and trainers with a t-shirt or nice top. That goes well from day to evening.

Ooh, using accessories on a casual outfit is something I hadn't really considered - I do like the layered jewellery idea!

I've just seen somebody out and about and thought to myself 'I like her style' she was wearing a long shirt untucked with black skinny jeans and flat sandals, cross body bag. Her hair was long and curly at the ends. She just looked effortlessly stylish. A great day look. You could take a denim or leather jacket if chilly.
For the evening, why don't you get a dress that you can put a slim belt around your middle, accentuating/creating your waistline, I like dresses with long sleeves, could be knee length with boots or trainers. Enjoy yourself!

I have all kinds in an asos basket...nice dark wash skinny jeans and a cream cami, some black linen long shorts, an ivory off the shoulder top with bows, some nice new white leather trainers and some gorgeous dark sage leggings.

It doesn't help that the weather is currently lovely and I hear it's supposed to go downhill again - probably end up just wearing my big coat over everything anyway!
