Help me be stylish for spring/summer

I need help. I’m such a winter girl, love jumpers and skinny jeans (yes I know skinny’s are ‘out’). I never feel trendy or comfortable in summer clothes. I don’t like showing too much skin, I’m deathly pale and don’t have the time to fake tan with a clingy breastfed baby, and I don’t like showing my legs. It just leaves me stuck on what to wear. I walk miles with the pram so I need comfortable footwear too. Doesn’t help that I still have a stone and half to lose from pregnancy weight. I’m used to being a size 8/10 and I’m currently a 14 so nothing in my wardrobe fits me.

Can anyone give me an idea of what to look for so I feel a bit more on trend and put together?

Completely off topic, but you're doing the right thing not using fake tan with a BF baby. Mine ended up with a 5 o'clock shadow one year when I did this 😂. Best avoided!

To answer though, this kind of trouser, along with parachute trousers, are apparently going to be all the rage. You could wear with canvas trainers or fisherman's sandals and a loose T? Would cover the baby weight and be comfy (but I am no style guru so someone else will likely have a better idea!).

Don’t put yourself down op , and as for skinnies being out! Who cares I love mine! I wear 27/7, I’m pale too! But it doesn’t bother me! I’d be browsing online to see what’s about and probably wear a comfy dress and pumps

Feel the same as you. I sometimes buy a thing which seems trendy, but then can't combine it correctly.

I love jumpsuits in the summer. I am a curvy size 12 and find them surprisingly flattering and comfy. I find patterned ones are more flattering than plain colours personally.

I'd buy a few really pretty long skirts (Anthropologie has gorgeous ones) some great quality t-shirts to tuck in (M&S linen blend, American Vintage v neck and All Saints round necks are my faves). A pair of sandals and a pair of trainers for lots of walking, and some shorts to wear underneath if your thighs rub.

Thank you so much for the ideas! You're all amazing. Going to have a little online shopping browse tonight.

I like loose relaxed patterned or black trousers, denim shorts, linen shirts, loose fitting cotton t-shirt's & nice sandals.

LittleGwyneth can you link to the skirts you mention please?
