Ideas on what to wear to the theatre? I'm 24...

What show? West end? Play? Musical?

BattledoreAndShuttlecock · 25/03/2022 10:50

Depends what you're doing before and after really. I tend to use it as an excuse to wear my favourite slightly glam outfits - not because I need to, just because I enjoy getting the chance to wear them.

BattledoreAndShuttlecock · 25/03/2022 10:53

Just look through the recesses of your wardrobe, and whatever makes you think "oh I love that but haven't worn it for ages" is the one to choose. If the reason you haven't worn it is that you haven't got the right bra/shoes/top to go with it then go in search of them.

Would it be an afternoon or evening performance?

SaggyBlinders · 25/03/2022 11:58

Whatever you want really. It's a nice excuse to dress up though.

Nothing that rustles, or is too voluminous.

Otherwise anything goes, whatever you'd wear to go for a drink.

I would usually wear jeans and trainers to be honest, it's not really a dressing up experience. Or whatever you'd wear to go to a fairly nice pub. Don't dress up unless it's an opening night with a dress code.

Keep it casual or you may feel a bit over dressed. It's not a dressy occasion these days

Something you feel comfortable in. Depending on the theatre, some seats are small with very little leg room.
