Gel nail kits - any good? Do they make your nails weaker?

I am on a weight loss journey and when I did it previously, every time I had reached a milestone, 1/2 stone loss I would treat my self to gel nails or a hair cut.

But I have been looking at the lamps to do it your self at hone (and save some money)

Has anyone got recommendations of good brands or sets they have used ?

Also my nails are ridiculously weak, and break easily. Will this make my nails weaker or will it help then grow a bit ?

I use mylee my gel and love it. Buy the nail builder base coat if your nails are weak.

The gel doesn't damage or weaken your nails but removing them can, picking or peeling will trash your nails but soaking off isn't good either so I do infills as much as possible.

I have a mylee uv lamp too which is great.

I use Bluesky and GDI gel polishes but the proper CND base & top coats.

I love using my Mylee one now and again but after removal it puts me off using it for a long time 😅

My nails are always much weaker and more brittle after I've had gels applied then removed. For that reason I only do it occasionally.
