Summer shoes for someone hiding their toes...

I have a big toenail missing (ingrown toenail surgery) and am quite conscious of it. (Not interested in getting fake stick on nails for various reasons).

Usually live in Birkenstocks but want summer shoes which hide my toe-shame. What can I wear in summer that hides it?

I want it to be quick to get on and off. Was thinking Toms but tried some once and uncomfortable, but willing to try again. Are there any more sandal-y shoes that anyone can think of?

Thanks!

Fisherman sandals?

Slip on trainers? Sezane have some very pretty woven low ballerinas. Those espadrilles that tie found your ankle are good too, but less easy on/off.

Fisherman sandals, or clogs? The Birkenstock Boston clogs are everywhere this year (acquired taste though!)

Palmairas Menorcan sandals. I lived in these when I had a grim toenail.

Have a look at Hotter - Blake or Lake shoes.

My mum has the same and she likes this style from seasalt , they do lots of colours b and whilst you see the end of your toe you don't see the nail area. They've got some colours on the sale for £15 rather than £45 at the moment

Crocs, or are they too ugly?

These are my fisherman sandals. Excellent quality and super comfortable.

This. They ate really comfortable and quite elegant. In every colour of the rainbow too.

If you look up “closed toe sandals” various things come up. I quite like ones where the toe area is woven so you can’t see anything but air can circulate.

I'd give Toms another try. I have a couple of pairs of canvas ones and they are honestly some of the comfiest shoes I own.
