Beach bag that doubles as airport bag?

Have my eye on a lovely Chloe Woody tote bag and a Rive Gauche Saint Laurent bag, but it is almost €1000 which I can't justify for a beach bag! Any other ideas for a wow summer bag to take on holiday please??

What is your budget?

The longchamp le plaige is a regularly recommended one on here and I do normally take one on holiday with me, that under £100. (The folding up small to fit in your luggage thing helps if you dont want to use it as your airport bag, I normally prefer to travel with a rucksack and a small cross body bag for passports, phone and purse, so I've got my hands free to deal with kids.)

About half the price of the RG is the Tory Burch canvas tote that's very similar, sort of a half way point at around £450, and I do like it, but like you I can't justify spending a lot on a bag I will only use for a week away then the odd day here and there in the UK when the weather is nice while at the same time I need to carry a lot.

The Mia tui big totes are great for airport and could easily be used for the beach.

I wouldn't use a nice bag on a beach. Would just opt for some sort of big fabric tote that packs into the luggage. le Plaige or a rucksack for the airport bag.

I second Mia TUI. I've used mine on the plane and then on the beach. Very lightweight and strong.

To be fair I use my Neverfull as it's such a workhorse plus being canvas it's wipe clean. Ive had it for years and I'm not precious about it. Any large coated canvas tote is a good call.

Some really good recommendations here...thank-you. I'm trying to get the balance between not being too big but still able to throw laptop, kindle, wallet , phone etc...along with towel and suncream for beach! Also think I'd like magnet or zip closure for safety...rather than left open. I'm willing to go to about 400-€500 for the right one!

Finally decided to bite the bullet and bought Chloe woody bag! Had been saving for a while, and can't wait for it to arrive. Hope to be able to use it all Spring/Summer as well as holidays.
