Quality cabin bag, please?

I need a new wheeled cabin bag as my trusty Samonsite has finally died after 15+ years. But all the ones I've tried feel really flimsy, especially the handles which feel too wobbly. They're sacrificing quality over being light weight, it seems?

But BA has a generous weight allowance so happy to buy a more solid cabin bag. Any recommendations please?

I recently bought some new luggage from Away, I'm really pleased with it, very sturdy feeling and seems to hold tonnes.

(Nice colours too).

Oh that's interesting. I've just bought DH a new wash bag from Away and it's lovely quality, but didn't look at their luggage.

I'd really recommend it. I got some of the packing cubes too, game-changing!

I always go to the ‘surf’ brands for luggage - I love a ‘clamshell’ suitcase with a hard base and soft top. In particular have had various Roxy suitcases and they have lasted really well. I am a sucker for a Liberty print though and when I saw Eastpak had a Liberty collection I bought the cabin size suitcase from that range and it’s fantastic.

(Most of my travel is by rail so the extra flexibility and squishiness of those cases is really useful)

Rimowa everytime. You can get lightweight ones but they're still top quality.

I’ve been really disappointed with Rimowa! I’ve got a classic suitcase from them and it’s turned up on the baggage return about 4 times with a wheel missing. It then lost a wheel just being wheeled around on a pavement! It’s basically unusable and it cost almost £1k…. I’d maybe be tempted more with a cabin bag as you can be careful about how you handle it though.
