I’m no help as also in the same position! What’s your budget?

Ohdoleavemealone · 23/03/2022 20:16

Budget is around £30.

I would try a large Sainsburys or something from New Look. Ditsy and floral print dresses are still in. If you look at more expensive brands first and then find something similar. Maybe Matalan or Tesco too.

OllyBJolly · 23/03/2022 21:01

Ha! I’m wearing a dress I bought two years ago for a wedding that has been rearranged 5 times. Still in it’s wrapping with tags.

Fingers are so crossed it can finally take place!

OllyBJolly · 23/03/2022 21:02

Its wrapping FFS autocorrect!

Dress, jacket, hat.

Dress is over a decade old from wardrobe. So no one will remember it. WinkGrinNot overworn still like it. Jacket from Vinted. New without tags. Cost under a fiver. Hat is a plainish straw sunhat in a colour with a ribbon which matches outfit from Mountain Warehouse of all places. I've shoes and a bag which match again from wardrobe but not over worn. Bought a new pair of earrings and wearing an inherited ring to tone in.

Stuckandinamess · 23/03/2022 21:15

I'm looking on Vinted , there are some lovely dresses on there. I'm off to a small wedding in the countryside so going for soft colours, floral, midi length. Is yours a big formal wedding or more relaxed?

Have you used silk Fred before, is it any good?

Samanabanana · 24/03/2022 08:06

@PingPages it's brilliant for a budget friendly, on trend dress. Some are better quality than others as it's a mix of designers. I wouldn't shop here for classic pieces though!

Thank you! Maybe I’ll try, I’m just never sure which websites are genuine and won’t scam you with tatty bits of material that are rubbish Grin

notawittyname1954 · 24/03/2022 14:15

@Samanabanana That is such a pretty dress

notawittyname1954 · 24/03/2022 14:17

@Ohdoleavemealone just seen that new look have 25% off dresses at the moment

Samanabanana · 25/03/2022 16:25

@PingPages definitely not one of the scammy ones and much, much better quality than the likes of shein!

Samanabanana · 25/03/2022 16:27

@notawittyname1954 isn't it? I need an excuse to order it but sadly there are no wedding invites forthcoming at the moment! Grin

popcorndiva · 25/03/2022 16:29

This dress I got in the sale from ASOS. I like the long sleeves but that its still spring/ summer print.

Wearing a chunky necklace with it

That's really nice. I usually don't like Silk Fred but that's very pretty.
