Perfumes sell or keep?

So I’ve got some brand new perfumes and some used a tiny bit but eg Van Cleef & Arpels Oriens - someone thought I liked it but I’d smelled it before and was a gift so it’s boxed and unopened. A few others too.

Should I sell or keep?

I'm in the same boat. I've a few I want to get rid of because I don't like them. I'm thinking about selling them, just not quite sure how to go about it.

Part used perfumes sell quite well on eBay.

I've sold sample size bottles on Vinted before. Was surprised someone actually bought them but they did. I paid £3 for each one online from the company which annoyed me tbh as I don't think companies should charge for samples like that. It I was grateful to reclaim some of the £ I spent because I didn't like any of them

@DramaAlpaca - they're just in my perfume area crowding the space!

My aunt bought me two gift sets of Jean Paul Gaultier Fragile - I'd smelled the one she got my SIL but didn't like it, I think my aunt got them on sale as I got one, one Christmas and a similar set (both with the snow globe) about a year or so later.

Fumnily enough Alberta Ferretti Eau de Parfum which I got in 2009 - I should hate it but I love it and now it's discontinued! it's going for £150 on Ebay!

Probably best to sell if you're not going to wear it - might as well get the cash to buy something else you love!

I've also got some unwanted perfume to sell but I don't know how! I had a horrible experience with a buyer on eBay last year and won't use it again. It's annoying because perfume usually sells really well on there. Not had any luck at all through FB marketplace.

Watching with interest. I've sold on ebay a lot and it's been fine. There's always That Buyer though!

I have swapped out a few rather than selling. I have friends who get given perfumes as gifts, and so it worked out quite well.

I have always been of the opinion that perfume is not a great gift unless you know that is the one that the person you are buying for really likes.

We have so many copies and parallel imports here, so buying online or as used, is quite big risk.

@isthismylifenow - try telling that to my aunt re perfume! She literally bought the same JPG perfume for me and SIL. She's bought other ones too but not now. I think the gift sets were on offer at TK Maxx/airports etc (she used to travel abroad a lot for work).

I buy perfume for my DM for her birthday but she only likes certain ones, the original Femme by Rochas, Trussardi Skin (discontinued), Narcisco Rodrigruez, Davidoff Cool Water and Hugo Boss Orange.

@isthismylifenow - all my perfumes even the used ones are definitely genuine.

Most of the really old ones I have - KL by Karl Lagerfeld which I think I'm keeping - that is so old that you'd have to be a good faker to fake that!

@Gonnagetgoing I didn't mean to imply that yours are fakes/ PI. Smile
