Prom dress from Fonthill Rd in Finsbury Park

After seeing a recommendation here was thinking of going to Fonthill Rd for dd to have a look at prom dresses.

Has anyone here done it? Is it worth the journey? (1h each way). Do we need to book anything? Any shops in particular you'd recommend?

TIA

You don't need to book. The shops have a quick turnaround of stock so can't really recommend any. some of them don't have proper changing rooms as they're essentially wholesalers rather than retailers. They used to be only open to the public on a Saturday, but that may have changed. I used to go there regularly back in the day as I used to live a 20 min bus ride away. I wouldn't travel an hour each way though. I took DD there prom dress shopping a 3 years ago for the experience, but we ended up buying from elsewhere.

Thanks for that! We would be paying train tickets as well so would really have to be worth it!

I used to go here as a broke 20 year old student!

They do have good bargains but if you’re going to go either make a day of it and go to Highgate Village (cemetery) and Hampstead village and Heath etc or even Brent Cross which has most high street shops including Victoria Secret and VS Pink.

As @skippy67 says they only used to be open to general public on a Saturday and you just have to look. They have cafes etc there though.
