Can elastic/stretch bracelets ever last a long time?

It's my birthday soon, and I really love the Clogau stretch bracelets. But they are £129, and every elastic bracelet I've ever had has broken after a while. I've had some for up to 10 years, but eventually they just went slack and lost their stretch. None of these were expensive so it didn't matter. Would it be a mistake to buy one of these?

Can't you change the elastic? I've done that on bracelets the children has stretched.

I'd be worried about it breaking and losing the beads. Bad enough when it's a cheap bracelet, even worse with something that expensive (speaking from the experience of teenage me having my treasured gemstone chip bracelets breaking, and feeling sad about it as I never found all the bits again.)

You can get them re-strung; I do it for people, or you can do it yourself, if you have the kit and the dexterity
