Brushing/styling curly hair without frizz

DD has lovely curls- straight down to about chin level then finishes in ringlets.

She usually dries it straight but has just asked me how to do it to keep the ringlets in- she needs to brush it in the morning for school but this makes the curls frizz out.

Is there any sort of brush or comb that’s better for this sort of hair? At the moment she’s using a Mason & Pearson bristle brush. Or should she just brush the top part?

I don’t have a clue as mine is dead straight.

My own hair is very curly too. I've found regardless of what brush I use its all down to whether my hair is brushed dry or wet. If brushed dry that's an obvious recipe for frizz. And using the right conditioner too. Don't skimp on conditioner from my experience.

We've just discovered that the best way to fix DD's hair after brushing is to mist it with water and let it air dry. Not brushing it doesn't work as it tangles really badly.
