Colouring grey hair at home, recommend blonde please?

I've cut and coloured my own hair at home for 10 years. It's 80% grey and I daub streaks of blonde permanent colour on it to suit. I use L'Oréal Age Perfect/Excellence usually and, if I say so myself, it looks pretty damn good and is in excellent condition. Well, L'Oréal has changed the colours/box numbers and I can no longer get 10.13 (natural light baby blonde) so have tried others that say light golden blonde but have either ended up with silver or a dark ash blonde. Can anyone recommend a box dye shade that actually comes out a golden blonde? I've learnt not to go by the picture on the front! TIA.

I used to use Garnier Belle Colour although I can't remember the no.
I think personally it's the best home dye.

Thanks, was it a proper golden blonde?

Yes, and I've checked and sure it was light honey blonde 9.3.

Thank you so much!

I really love this idea of doing your own streaks.

Can you share how you do it, OP?

It helps that my hair is mainly white now apart from the original dark brown underneath at the back. I use a wide colouring brush, mix up either a third or half a box of a light golden colour, pin up the top layer and daub long streaks about an inch apart. Let down another layer and repeat and then the very top layer - I'm more careful here as it's the bit that shows most.

I've used Nutrisse Baby Blonde 10.1, it's the Holly Willoughby one and it's a pale yellow rather than silver blonde.

Thank you, that sounds worth trying and will go on my list. So many end up a dull ash colour.
