Purple shampoo for balayage

Have mid-dark brown hair that I had balayage in last week. Its very subtle caramel my colour but the hair dresser said the toner would fade and I asked if I should use a purple shampoo occasionally to stop yellowing- she said yes just not toooften or it'll go purple!

Any suggestions? And tips?

The best purple shampoo I’ve used is Fanola. I use it now I’m growing out my greys. When I brunette I used the blue version. Another reason not to use it too often as it can be quite drying. Also, wear gloves when you do it and don’t leave it on for too long, as it’s very pigmented.

Fanola is supposed to be the best one but I wonder if you can get away with something less industrial strength? I like the umberto gianini one.

My hairdresser recommended the L'Oreal Professionnel one (this one and it's been fine for daily use. She strongly advised against using Touch of Silver as apparently it's very drying.

Also a fan of Fanola. I really recommend it. I use the blue one on my balayaged hair as I have brunette dye a d the blonde.
