Do the current fashion trends remind anyone else of 90s/early 00s fashion?

I keep seeing young women/girls in flared or baggy jeans and trousers, cropped or low cut tops tops and oversized jackets.

Reminds me so much of what my friends and I wore in the 90s and early noughties.

I know fashions come and go and I'd like to think that as a mum in my late thirties I'm still fashionable but seeing girls going round dressed like I did in my teens makes me a bit nostalgic.

It was always going to be just a matter of time, after so many years of skinny jeans. I'm finding it quite refreshing.

Oh yes absolutely, it all looks very 90s at the moment … I sometimes find it funny to see groups of girls going around dressed in exactly the same thing: completely identical baggy jeans or trousers, crop tops , big trainers and straightened hair. Then I remember my friends and I did exactly the same thing, even down to us all wearing the same colour nail varnish

Yes. Watching Top of the Pops 1992 last night and I commented to DH that the outfit Betty Boo was wearing was peak 2022 fashion

I've even seen young ones on Tiktok flirting with the idea skinny eyebrows

My youngest basically dresses like Buffy the vampire slayer. Idk if this is now behind the curve as she is 19

Yes. Came across a photo of myself aged 18 the other day. Wearing exactly the kind of outfit that 16yo DD wears most days.

I was on a bus a couple of years back and a teenager got on in a flowery slip dress and DM boots, flannel shirt tied round her waist. Exactly the look my friends and I had circa 1995. Gave me a really visceral jolt of nostalgia.

I love seeing this stuff come back. Especially the looser jean styles with crop tops. I loved that look when I was slim with a tiny flat stomach 😍

My DD was rocking a stripy long sleeved crop top with ripped baggy jeans and DMs today and an oversized suede jacket on top when she went out. I would have worn almost exactly the same stuff in the 90s
She loves all things 90s including Nirvana and the Breakfast Club.

Yes! It gives me hope and makes me feel ancient, both at the same time . Quite fancy getting some bright white Reebok Classics and joining in!

It’s called 90’s retro chic for a reason.

Yep it's all back in fashion. Personally I like it and enjoy seeing them all in the clothes of my youth!

It's already doing a booming trade on eBay. £20-£40 for a classic sweater shop. Weirdly i seem to remember all the patterns too 🤷🏽‍♀️

Might have to see what’s tucked away at the back of my wardrobe in my parent’s house there might me some 90s vintage lurking in there!

Personally, I'm welcoming the return of the tanktop, as a way of allowing pale faced, big boobed people like me to get away with a white shirt.

Totally. My teenager wears cropped tops , brown bootcut jeans and airmax 90 trainers. She also has a slip dress.

Absolutely- I mentioned that to my teenage daughter on Saturday when she picked something up... She wasn't particularly impressed that her ancient mother used to wear exactly the same!
