Oh bugger. I need holiday clothes

Going away in 6 weeks somewhere hot and in need of help. I’ve kind of been in denial that it will actually happen - Covid, cancelled 3 times blah blah. And now I’ve forgotten to lose weight and make an effort.

Nothing fits me and I’m 4 stone heavier and 6 years older than last time I went anywhere. And I haven’t actually shopped in an actual shop for at least 3 years.

So I need an entire holiday wardrobe, on a budget, for a very large, old woman. If it makes me look size 12 and 25 that’d be good too.

How hot & what kind of holiday (lounging by the pool or trips out?)

What size are you?

My usual go-tos are:

2-3 pairs of linen trousers/palazzo pants
2 pairs of shorts
5 loose fitting tops
1-2 dresses
Swimwear

Plus straw sun hat, straw bag, comfy sandals, sunglasses

If you're under size 20 and want to do this in a budget, take a trip out to a big primark. You could get most stuff there & the colours will probably co-ordinate better if all from one place.

I am jealous - I dream about holiday packing at the moment!

I went to Matalan yesterday and got 2 dresses, jumpsuit skirt and top and a t shirt for a decent price. They usually do a 20% off some point if you can gamble on waiting

Lots of shorts too. Next boy shorts are good and I got some from vinted for a fiver including postage. Also got two nice warehouse dresses from vinted for a fiver but takes time and hunting!

I'm a size 16 early 40s.

Stuff is much better than they appear on website. Some of the fabric is a bit nylony this season so I avoid those.

I'm in a similar situation but have finally lost a bit of weight this year so I've been buying summer dresses on vinted for not very much at all!

I'm in a similar situation and am off shopping today! I did buy some really nice linen trousers from M&S which I think were about £20 and they are so comfy and flattering that I'm going back to get them in more colours. Good luck snd let me know if you find some good stuff Smile
