What to buy in Italy?

Off to Italy in a couple of weeks (after cancelling and rebooking more times than I care to count!)
While I'm there are there any great beauty buys hiding in an Italian pharmacy that I simply can't live without? Hair care, body lotion, stuff to make me look 10 years younger (preferably 15 years younger) that I won't find in my local superdrug?

Following as I am in Italy and would love to discover something that makes me look 10 years younger! Nothing springs to mine though, sorry! Where are you going?

We are going to Venice, Florence & Rome - going to need another holiday to get over it!

Beauty stuff no - when I go I come back with parmesan, olive oil and truffle things! Last time I went though I got a lovely jumper from Stefanel. Worth checking out the Italian brands.

I’ll definitely be doing some food & clothes shopping too. 😀

In Florence I recommend you go here - more for the experience than the products (which are lovely but very pricey!)

I really like products from L'Erbolario Di Lodi - they have lovely scent. You can buy them in pharmacies in Florence, not sure about other cities as they are quite local.
I am not sure about how it is nowadays but in Florence, there used to be a market very close to the cathedral where you could buy good quality leather goods (gloves, belts etc.), wool/cashmere scarves.

All cities are good for vintage/antique shopping. Museums usually have very nice range of stationery if you're in this type of things.

We are booked in for lots of museums & galleries & I was hoping for good gift shops - I’ll often find something nice for my mum in a museum gift shop so I’ll definitely be checking those out.

I can't recommend a specific brand, but in most pharmacies they sell these tubes of lotions / gel that speed up natural tanning. They are amazing. No idea what's in them but they do work. Very widely used so just ask and then buy within your budget, stock up. I bought similar in other countries as an after thought, but the Italian stuff is better.

I go to Italy every year ( you will have the time of your life) - their pharmacies aren't that exciting really aside from some nice olive oil lemon soaps) BUT their denim is amazing and lingerie and leather goods ( bags/boots/gloves).
Have so much fun.

I always stock up on Marvis toothpaste in Italy, pretty packaging and different flavours to try.

Leather, denim, cheese.

Huge leatherworking tradition in Italy. Go for handbags, sandals, and shoes.

In Venice look out for Murano glass ( make sure it's the real thing not foreign knockoffs).
