Really want a lovely raspberry lipstick - any suggestions please? A warm colour, not with blue in it (she says trying to sound knowledgeable). Thanks

Can you give us an example of the sort of colour you are looking for? I ask because raspberry is quite a blue toned pink, so it would be good to get a clearer idea of what you want!

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 16/03/2022 21:19

Yes, raspberry is generally considered a cool toned red / pink because it's got some blue in it. So when you say you want a warm toned one I wouldn't necessarily think of a raspberry colour

I am quite pale, though I tan very easily. Mid brown hair and hazel eyes. I am crap at knowing skin tones but I do know that white washes me out and that I look better with gold, not silver, jewellery. Thanks.

Sounds like you're definitely a warm skin tone. Perhaps a light autumn. A quick search on Pinterest suggests these as makeup colours. As for actual lipstick names I can't help you with that, as you're a total different colouring to me so not one I'd wear or that I've shopped for in the past. But good luck with your search!

Mac might be a really useful starting point here...

You can do a virtual try on if lipstick colours on their website if you upload a photo. I have found this really helpful, particularly during covid.

You can also use their live chat function and ask an artist for shade recommendations. Again, I've used this and found it really helpful

@WineGetsMeThroughIt - that palette is great and I am really drawn to those colours so a great place to start. I will also take a look at the virtual Mac @NameChangeCity123. Thanks both

Bourjois do one called Bohemian Raspberry which imo isn't a raspberry but I imagine would suit your colouring.

Note: I've never used the website above, I'm not in the UK, it's just an example so do check out its credentials if you choose to order.

BusterGonad · 17/03/2022 08:26

There are loads on ebay uk.

RosesAndHellebores · 17/03/2022 08:27

Clinical do a great raspberry (will look up name when I put my slap on) but I am a "summer" can't wear cream, beige, brown, orange, etc, but blues, Heather's, pinks, greens are fab.

I think you should explore the more coral lipstick tones op and there are far more to chose from.

Findingneeemo · 17/03/2022 08:30

If you go onto rimmels website there is a very effective tool where you click on a lipstick and it superimposes it onto your lips. I was surprised at which ones suited me.

MorrisZapp · 17/03/2022 08:35

I can't wear lipstick as my skin is so dry, but I do love a tinted balm and variations thereof.
I have no idea if I'm warm or cool but I'm always drawn to berry tones. Clinique chubby stick in plumped up peony is a brilliant berry blusher but too dry for my lips.
Anything with berry in the name tends to have the juicy look I love. In a lighter formula, you can brave a richer shade.

MorrisZapp · 17/03/2022 08:36

Burts Bees tinted lip balm in Black Dahlia is a classic.

Don't go for the Bobbi Brown one. I did . It is blue! I got a raspberry one from Boots natural collection which was called Raspberry something or other! Dirt cheap so if you end up not liking it, you haven't spent a fortune!!

Deathraystare · 17/03/2022 16:37

Actually I think Boots No 7 did a raspberry one that I admired on a co worker. Not sure they still do.

Deathraystare · 17/03/2022 16:54

Yes Boots no 7 do still do Raspberry truffle in their Moisture Drench range. I have warm colouring (warm Ivory is the foundation colour they matched with me and I did the lipstick tests too- a surprising number of their lipsticks came up!).

Rina66 · 18/03/2022 04:48

Bobbi Brown have a lipstick called Raspberry Pink, definitely more yellow based, it's a lovely shade, just like crushed up raspberries!
