Short and looking for tights that don't fall down

LemonDrizzles · 16/03/2022 13:30

Constantly pulling up my tights during the day.
I'm 5ft 2 inches, size 20 waist, size 24 hips.
Looking for tights that stay up.
I have to look professional next week and just know i'll be walking and the tights will be slide slide sliding down!
Any recommendations welcome.

snag tights!

Greenhillfaraway · 16/03/2022 13:32

Snag tights are often recommended. I’ve not used them but normally size up to help keep mine up. Don’t know if that’s necessary with Snag.

Redhotchllisteppa · 16/03/2022 13:39

Dont by snag tights if you are short. I am 5ft 7 and snag tights come up under my arm pits and winkle round the ankle.

LemonDrizzles · 16/03/2022 14:17

I have these great maternity tights that stay up but also wrinkle around the ankles.... Will people notice. I was going to get some new shoes as my current shoes have irreparable holes, now I'm thinking I could wear the boots instead - could cover up the wrinkle ankles?

Snag sizing goes by height and size, as well as shape - have a look at their sizing chart.

I'm 5ft3 size 12/14 and they are the best tights I've had, they really don't fall down.

Snag I'm 5'6 and a size 12 and order whatever it suggests on the measuring page!

LemonDrizzles · 16/03/2022 14:46

Thanks I'll look at snag

Snag short F. I'm the same size as you

StarlightLady · 16/03/2022 17:52

For those who have never done it, this may sound odd.

If you wear tights with a reasonable sized cotton gusset, such as M&S Autograph or Autograph Seam free, you really don’t need knickers with them. The top of the tights adheres to the body, hence no slippage. The problem is the tights slipping on the other fabric.

My sister taught me this trick and now several friends do the same.

Obviously, only do it with tights that have a cotton gusset though.

Snag 100%

TheHoleNineYards · 16/03/2022 18:00

Top tip: wear a vest / cami top under your clothes and tuck it into your tights. The friction means they don’t fall down.

StarlightLady · 17/03/2022 06:38

@TheHoleNineYards - That sounds really uncomfortable and not practical after a wee.

Cloudwire · 17/03/2022 06:59

I always buy tights that have ‘tummy-sucking’ / ‘bum-lifting’ features simply because they are so reinforced at the top they stay up perfectly.

If you are a feminist/gender critical you may want to read previous threads regarding their advertising before making a decision

TheHoleNineYards · 17/03/2022 07:22

@StarlightLady - not at all. I really like the feeling of being ‘all tucked in’ now Blush Much more comfortable than spending the day yanking tights back up.
