My friend 75 is MOB and has chosen this dress. It’s lovely on but needs jazzed up a little with handbag/necklace & shoes.

She is size 6/8 and has tiny 2.5/3 shoe size so getting shoes is an issue!

Can anyone help with suggestions?

I can’t see the photo, but LK Bennett usually has a good selection of dressy shoes in small sizes - think their shoes start at size 2. They are on the expensive side though.

SommerTen · 16/03/2022 10:25

@Doidontimmm can you try to link the photo again please

Doidontimmm · 16/03/2022 10:56

Oops sorry!

Second LK Bennett for smaller size shoes, next do a size 35.5 I find those sometimes fit M&S also did 35.5 but have found lately they seem to come up bigger now.

What style of shoe does she want ?

tolerable · 16/03/2022 17:07

is there a flower theme/colour?

Doidontimmm · 16/03/2022 21:11

Sorry went out for dinner! No real theme she can wear what she wants. She can only wear mid size heels.

If she wants to make a statement I would say accessorise it with red beads and red handbag. shoes could be red or black. Or wear black bag and shoes with red beads and bracelet.

LiterallyKnowsBest · 17/03/2022 07:57

Alternatively, if she wants to look stylish and elegant she’ll avoid either red or black accessories with her lovely summery dress.

A double string of pearls and a vintage look brooch to light up her face are all the jewellery needed.

What budget for a bag?

(Can’t help with shoes, I have feet the size of a billionaire’s yacht.)

Doidontimmm · 17/03/2022 08:02

I’d suggested purple as there is tiny bits of lilac in the dress?

Budget probably under £100 as will never wear again.

Like the pearls idea!

Yep I’d also go with soft colours - pale pink, soft purple, navy if she’s comfortable for the shoes.

I think maybe that poster thought the dress was black and white as red and black accessories definitely wouldn’t go with this dress

TottersBlankly · 17/03/2022 08:06

Purple …

How about this?

Though I’d hope your friend would find other opportunities to use anything bought for the wedding.

MaChienEstUnDick · 17/03/2022 08:09

Kurt Geiger usually have 3s in their main range. Second M&S for budget though they don't go lower than a 3 and agree they've been coming up a little bigger recently. I did get a lovely pair of sling back kitten heels there for a winter wedding though.

E bay for a bag? I think MOB bags need to be a little bigger than a normal evening bag because they always end up holding tissues and lipstick and stuff for the bride!

Doidontimmm · 17/03/2022 08:11

@TottersBlankly I love the bag. Will send her the link! She said she might wear the dress again but not sure about bag/shoes!

Doidontimmm · 17/03/2022 08:16

I think these look lovely together! Now thinking lilac coloured pearls maybe? She has asked for my help as stuck!

Will look at Kurt Geiger. M&S no longer fit her as too big.

Good! Dark purple shoes, or sandals, might be nice? So, not matching but cohesive.

Obviously she should try and borrow some pearls if she doesn’t own any. No need to buy.

She’s going to look grand!

Doidontimmm · 17/03/2022 08:21

Going to WhatsApp her the ideas this morning Smile

I know they're a no-no in MN world but in real life, a hat or headpiece would elevate that (very lovely) dress.

TottersBlankly · 17/03/2022 08:26

Personally - I’d stuck with natural cream or white pearls - whichever suit her skin tone best. Lilac might suggest an ice cream rather than a matriarch!

TottersBlankly · 17/03/2022 08:27

(stick not stuck!)

Doidontimmm · 17/03/2022 08:28

She said no to a hat/fascinator as no one else is wearing!

I’m getting married too this year and no one is wearing one - even my mum & gran!

Doidontimmm · 17/03/2022 08:29

Haha re ice cream!!!

Doidontimmm · 17/03/2022 08:31

Thoughts? I’m getting over invested, she might not even like lilac!!

How do you do that photo compilation?Envy

Presumably she chose the dress so must like the colours?

And the middle photo with the good, plain pearls is best. She’ll want to look like a grown up, not a little girl at a party …

(Definitely over invested here.)
