How to protected knitted white trainers ..... ?

I have just bought some super comfy white knitted FitFlops but am scared to wear them as I fear they are going to get marked, dirty etc.

I would like to protect them, FitFlop wont advise on anything.

All the product reviews I can find on Amazon for protective sprays suggest the product will change a white fabric product. Any ideas? I am thinking of sending them back as they were RRP £110 (although I did use a discount code) and am feeling scared of them!

I think a water proofing spray that you can use on canvas shoes would be fine- crep protect or similar.
I had a black pair of knitted fitflops- they were SO comfy. Keep them!
