Romantic Dinner Outfit

Out for dinner with DH tomorrow night and fretting about an outfit.
Bought this top, but haven't worn it yet. Thinking tucked into this leather skirt, which I'd need to pick up at lunch tomorrow.
Thoughts ?

Hi OP what’s the venue like? Also the weather where you are?

Hop27 · 15/03/2022 12:07

It's mid 20's at night, it's a really nice restaurant. Dark and moody! If that makes sense.

It does make sense! In that case lovely outfit. The top would work well with gold toned jewellery if you wear it. I assume you have the right bra to make it work, if you wear one?

What about shoes?

Flyinggeese1234 · 15/03/2022 12:15

Genuinely think the top and skirt are just perfect, and I’ve never thought that about a S&B thread before! Really lovely. It’s just a case of shoes and accessories now and you’re done.

Thanks @Flyinggeese1234 !

Oh, gorgeous. OP you’re all over this! Have a fab night.

Gonnagetgoing · 15/03/2022 12:30

It's not what I'd choose but I see you're in Australia. It's nice if you can carry it off.

Do you have tanned legs or are you wearing tights?

WeddingFavour · 15/03/2022 12:35

Have to say, it's not for me either. I'm not keen on the combination of strappy top, animal-print, leather and mini skirt. individually I like the top and skirt (and shoes) but together it's a bit too much. Would you consider a black midi skirt instead? Something like this?

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 15/03/2022 12:39

I'm presuming based on your choices that you've got the figure to carry it off (I'm not fat-shaming, I'm not hugely overweight myself but definitely don't have the figure to wear either item) I love the top, the skirt and the sandals! Absolutely gorgeous together and I hope you have a really lovely romantic dinner Smile (ps a photo would be great if you could post one!)

Hop27 · 15/03/2022 19:54

@Gonnagetgoing - I won't wear tights, I massively dislike them!
@WeddingFavour - Camilla often style their stuff with longer silhouette's but it just isn't me! I'm not willowy enough, if that makes sense!
Have take a couple of alternative's to
Work in case my skirt plan falls over!

@LifeInAHamsterWheel - I'll see if I can take a picture! I'm stupidly excited - it's been ages since we've been out like this and it feels really extravagant to be going out mid-week. Although forgot how annoying it is having to bring your life with you to work !

I've got these options with me too !

(But a slim belt on the cream one)

For me I’d probably do the dress.

Hop27 · 15/03/2022 20:09

@Gonnagetgoing - which one?

OP posts:
Flyinggeese1234 · 16/03/2022 12:45

@Hop27 will you get chance to try both on and just go with what makes you feel the best? I love the leather skirt outfit you posted first. I don’t think it’s too much as the skirt is so beautifully cut, that makes it very classy I think.

Cream dress is really lovely too but a totally different vibe.

The other dress has too high a neckline for me to like it, especially or going to dinner. But that’s just a personal thing.

So, I’d have a quick try on and make a snap decision.

I think you have lovely taste in clothes by the way. Have a great date night!

Gonnagetgoing · 16/03/2022 13:15

There was only one dress I think?

The cream one was lovely. I just wasn't keen on the cami top with the skirt - but I think you're slimmer than me and possibly with tanned legs or they'd look better than mine (pale pasty!) so would look better.

Gonnagetgoing · 16/03/2022 13:17

Ah - just seen two dresses - both are lovely but I think I'd do the one with the sleeves.

Have a lovely evening!

Hop27 · 17/03/2022 07:53

Thanks - I had lovely night.
I wore the skirt and top, felt great. I'm wearing skirt again tonight, casual tho just with a white tee! Good little purchase Smile
