How on earth do I get these earrings in??

I bought some earrings on eBay, just cheap and cheerful, but I can't work out how to put them in. When I try and put the hook in my ear, there's too much ear to squish past through the thin gap. I'm not sure if I am doing it wrong or if they are so badly designed they can't be worn. Anyone have earrings in this style that can give me a clue?

Can you open the post away from the front a bit more?

Can you put them in vertically like a conventional drop earring and then rotate upwards? I think they're supposed to fit quite snuggly.

I open them slightly and the squeeze them closed on my ear.

Hi @dartmoorchef they are from eBay, probably not the best quality as they cost £2.99 but they look nice. Just hoping they don't hurt my ears The app doesn't let me copy links, but the seller is stars032012, I typed in climber earrings and they came up.

OP, just wondering, and don’t want to cause a panic either, have you taken them out again.

That's great thankyou. I get sore ears with earrings that have backs on them so they look perfect for me.

I've had loads of pairs like that, I love the look, but be prepared they will snap!
