Maternity dress for a wedding

Hi all

I wondered if anyone had any recommendations for somewhere to get a maternity dress for a wedding?

I am a size 16-18 in pregnancy and already feel disgusting and huge. The wedding is in June so I assume the weather will be warm although I'm only going to the evening at 7pm... and I most likely won't be able to be able to wear big high heels like I would when not pregnant. I'll be 26 weeks pregnant. I guess something floaty that covers most if not all of my legs.

Hoping to find something I can afford (under £50 preferably) that isn't super thin and see through.

I've been looking online but most of the models appear to be wearing fake bumps so the rest of them is still very thin except a big bump which isn't the best representation of a pregnant woman!

Have a look at Asos. They always have some great options. I bought a maternity wrap around skirt from there for a wedding and it was really lovely silky material.

Also have a look on Facebook marketplace if you don’t mind secondhand as people are always selling maternity clothing.

I always had great success with Tiffany Ross dresses (bought on eBay as they're expensive newSmile).

Tiffany Rose even Blush

Brilliant, thank you! I wish they wouldn't do the fake bump thing! Just gives me false expectations. I shall go straight to asos. I always get a bit scroll blind on asos but I'll persevere and filter more

I shall see if I can find any Tiffany rose too :)

Maybe try Happy Mama. www.happymama.co.uk/maternity-clothes/maternity-dresses/maternity-nursing-maxi-wrap-dress-in-flower-print.html?___SID=U

I found them really good when I didn't want to spend much. They do size 16.

Jojo maman maybe?

I would try to get something which you can dress up or down so you can get some wear out of it.

Nice jacket and dress, I would think.

stimpyyouidiot · 13/03/2022 17:43

@BulletTrain oh thank you! I hadn't heard of them before!

Oh that's lovely. I'd have to look at bra options - I'm currently having to wear crop tops as my boobs are so ridiculously painful!

This is cotton, which is a plus in this price range: www.riverisland.com/p/black-floral-maternity-midi-dress-775731

This is viscose but very pretty www.johnlewis.com/seraphine-nico-floral-maternity-nursing-dress-green/p6050260

Ooh I wanted a chichi dress for the last wedding I went to but they never had it in my size. I'll see what I can find

For the Creators has lots of maternity and breastfeeding dresses that you can rent- I’ve used several times and it’s brilliant. I particularly like the Bump & Milk dresses.

stimpyyouidiot · 13/03/2022 21:40

Oh thanks! I've not heard of them before
