Best Gradual tan for face

Youngatheart00 · 12/03/2022 20:26

Money no object - I’m just sick of looking grey and pasty!! I’m dark blonde and do tan in the sun (with SPF!) but it’s been years since I’ve had a holiday and damn do I look tired

Skin type combination

Ideally one I can blend down my neck onto my chest

I’ll be wearing makeup on top, prior ones I’ve used have been either too obvious or greasy.

Would LOVE any personal recommendations Grin

Not expensive but I really rate olay complete everyday sunshine. I’m fair/blonde and I use the ‘light/medium’. Found using it everyday was getting a little dark so I use it every other day. Make up goes on fine on top

Tan luxe. They’re amazing and a bottle lasts absolutely bloody ages

PilatesPeach · 12/03/2022 20:37

I use Vita Liberta

Not sure but I bought the Dove one today in Superdrug as it was only 3.99 and bogof so if it's terrible I've only parted with 3.99.

I've just tried the St Tropez facial gradual tanning mist and highly recommend.

You just spritz your face and night and end up with a subtle glow the next morning which you build up as you wish.

I blast my face with hairdryer after application for a 30secs for a quick dry!

£22 on St Tropez website but I got it for £14 on Amazon.

Tan luxe. Mix it in with your moisturiser

Wagsandclaws · 12/03/2022 21:25

The clarins tan drips are good and you mix it with your moisturiser or ...

I absolutely swear by the garnier ambre solaire spray tan - it's like an airbrush spray and the colour is so realistic!

LoveLabradors · 12/03/2022 21:43

Does using tretinoin interfere with gradual tanning please?

Pyri · 12/03/2022 21:45

@LoveLabradors

Does using tretinoin interfere with gradual tanning please?
Yep, it bleaches it back off. I find for every 3 days of tan drops I need to do them a day more regularly using tret

Make sure you’re using the same area for the tan drops and the tret as I’ve had tide marks around the outside of my face before!

catfunk · 12/03/2022 21:49

Isle of paradise drops. I mix a few drops with my moisturiser before bed.
I'm pasty and crap with make up/ beauty..... and looks great on me!

Iwanttenofthose · 12/03/2022 22:09

The Clarins drops that you mix with your normal moisturiser are great. I am very pale so I've never got on well with fake tan, but 1-2 drops a day with my moisturiser gives a subtle glow that I can build up gradually, then top up every few days to maintain. Need to wash hands afterwards but otherwise no faff or mess at all.

I've never used them to go for a full on deep tan because that just wouldn't suit me, but they're great for this time of year when I want to leave the pastiness of winter behind me and have a bit of a healthy glow.

ZootSuit · 13/03/2022 00:15

After trying quite a few, I swear by this one! A little spritz in the evening and you get a lovely natural glow for a couple of days. Probably need to do it 2-3 times a week but don’t need that much so it lasts!

st tropez mousse

dogrilla · 13/03/2022 00:48

For face, garnier ambre solaire spray is great - I've tried all the posh ones but honestly think nothing else is as realistic. Don't like getting tanning gloop all over my hands

What one did you go for in the end OP? I'm trying to decide on one too....

Thejugglestruggle · 21/04/2022 17:06

Another tan luxe devotee here. Love all their products. Use their tan luxe serum as part of my skincare routine and leaves a lovely bit of colour throughout winter.

NorthernSoul55 · 21/04/2022 20:40

I've recommended Primark tanning drops on another post. Brilliant colour, not irritating and only £3!

Blossomtoes · 21/04/2022 21:02

Clarins for me. They last for ever so definitely worth the money.

Youngatheart00 · 01/05/2022 08:56

I got the clarins drops you mix with your moisturiser - it’s subtle but does make a difference and not at all messy / orange!!!

Another vote for the St Tropez spray

ChazzaGirl · 01/05/2022 17:14

Dove - it absorbs well and gives an even tan gradually.
