Body wash for eczema?

Can anyone recommend a good body wash that will actually clean but is also suitable for eczema? Ds is 13 and gets bad eczema on his legs, but he plays a lot of football and gets very muddy too!

Sanex dermoprotect is affordable and very gentle - the non 'FOR MEN' versions don't have ridiculously floral scents, either, so there's no reason why he wouldn't want to use them.

Another one here for Sanex, both me and DS use the ones for extremely dry skin.

Hadalifeonce · 12/03/2022 18:52

Dermol 500 has been recommended to us.

gingerbreadtea · 12/03/2022 18:55

I use dermol500 but e45 also do washes that my skin doesnt seem to react to.
Dependant on eczema - faith in nature might be worth a try. Its one of the only scented products im able to use

MissyB1 · 12/03/2022 19:05

Sanex is a good price. I will look up the Dermol one. And yes E45 might be a good shout.

Has anyone tried Aveeno body wash? It gets mixed reviews.

bar soap.
only for pits&bits though.
flannel for the rest of the body. plus moisturiser afterwards (but you and he do that already)

MissyB1 · 12/03/2022 19:24

Trouble is he is frequently plastered in mud! Although to be fair in the summer that shouldn’t be so bad, probably grass stains then 🤦‍♀️

You can get dermol on prescription from
Doctors. My DR gave it to me. Its great for eczema and works fab as a cleanser but it doesnt foam like a shower gel

yorkshireteaspoonie · 12/03/2022 19:50

Bioderma do 1000ml in a pump so no free pouring/ wasting. Lasts forever. Either one is great for eczema, personally I prefer the oil based one that leaves a light moisturising coat on the skin. Can be used with a shower puff for a good wash with minimal product used

Magicmagician · 12/03/2022 19:51

Another one for the dermol shower, followed by dermol lotion after

DeedIDo · 12/03/2022 20:01

Dermol, definitely.

MissyB1 · 12/03/2022 20:12

Great I think we should try Dermol.

Aveeno or Dermol

Yes we use aveeno here with eczema and you can get it on prescription as it's 10 quid a bottle unless you can find good offers.

I would also whack a good moisturiser thickly on his legs before he gets muddy.

IvorCutler · 12/03/2022 21:42

This is good for my ds (8), who has severe eczema. I’m sure it’d be grand for older too.

That is actually a good idea!
