Decent quality jumper and casual dresses?

I'm in despair at the quality out there of stuff. I like a casual dress with boots but the ones I've had from various places look like rags after a few washes and I might need to pay more. Ditto jumpers. I've a lovely loose charcoal grey one from Primark still going strong after 5 years and several higher end ones which look faded and shapeless.
Anyone happy to share their clothes with longevity successes ? Either vintage or stuff bought recently that feels nice, doesn't look cheap and washes ok? I'm seeing what looks like nice stuff on Vinted but not sure what brands truly last well.
Long post sorry but I'm sick of looking tattered

I pay a lot for knitwear but it does last if washed according to instructions. I shop M&S cashmere (I size up), White Company, Celtic and Co, Sezane and sometimes Hobbs and Reiss.
For jersey dresses I like John Lewis own brand and Boden (plain stuff mainly). Other dresses from Reiss, Anthropologie

Fatface are good quality and have some really nice stuff in their new spring collection. I've just bought a dress, a sweatshirt and a t shirt from there.

Do you know anyone who can knit?

Oops didn't see your bit at the end about fatface! I've always found their stuff washes well!

Have a look at Thought clothing. I don't think their styles work for everyone but they are a great ethical company and their clothes are really good quality. Better than eg Marks and Spencer or Boden

Knitwear - I recommend Knotty Ones, Genevieve Sweeney, &Daughter, Ganni, Sézane, Ami Amalia.

I bought two white company cashmere jumpers this year and they are rubbish quality, appalling. Made in China is usually a good indication it wont last. Poetry is very expensive but so far everything I have bought there has stayed looking nice, and I agree Thought is good too. But it is so hit and miss IMHO, you can buy something from Zara and its lovely and lasts for years and then buy a super expensive thing from Net a Porter and it doesn't last the season.

Eg, if this style and colour works for you it will be good quality!

Food for thought there and EXACTLY my experience that something cheap can last ages yet something pricey can be like a dish rag within washes
