Pubic hair removal

Sported quite a full bush (trimmed) all my life. Waxed once which was horrid.
I want to start swimming and get the bush under control.
What do people use for hair removal?

Please don't comment on keeping the bush. Each to their own choices.

Exactly @StarlightLady . surely deciding ourselves how we keep our own private parts is the most feminist approach

I used the Phillips lumea and it changed my life! I have dark hair and light skin so am definitely a good candidate for it. My hair used to be so thick, I would shave and you could still see the shadow and by the end of the day I'd have stubble. Waxing gave me terrible ingrown hairs.

Now my hair is so light, I don't even need to use the laser anymore.

And it doesn't hurt at all!

Update: I've trimmed the lot with my husband's beard trimmer (don't tell him 😉). It was very easy, it's short but not stubbly in the way that regrowth feels if that makes sense.
Where I wet shaved the sides is still itchy so I'm waiting for that to grow back and then hopefully I can beard trim the whole area and it will keep it short enough to not have spider legs dangling from the side of my swimming costume.

@shouldhestay

That’s great you found something that works for you! We all find our own way of tending to our lady gardens!

Hair removal cream works perfectly for me. So much cheaper and less painful than waxing, and less itchy than shaving.

KELLOGSspeck · 20/03/2022 03:34

Veet sensitive hair removal cream. I find it slightly less itchy than shaving.

How strange to state you’re a feminist and you have no pubic hair? Anyway, I’ve been having Hollywood waxes since they first came out and my hair has practically stopped growing. I only have to go twice a year now

ParanoidGynodroid · 25/03/2022 07:36

It always baffles me too, @duckiebrown
Does feminism dictate that women must not do what they want with their bodies? Or do what makes then feel comfortable, clean, or improves their sexual experience?
I should hope not!

I get rid of all mine that I want rid of (calves/ankles/pits/fanny) in the shower with hair conditioner and a standard razor.
I give them the once over 2/3 tines a week, takes 5 mins.

@duckiebrown and @ParanoidGynodroid

I take it your comments were aimed at me. The reason I stated it is that there is often a backlash against women who remove all pubic hair and consider themselves feminists (like me). If you read back on what I wrote, you’ll see that I wrote that I believe feminism is all choice & how we can all do as we please with our private parts. That was the point I was making.

It’s been a hot topic and has been discussed everywhere from BBC Woman’s Hour to Glamour magazine. Here are just a few links of the hundreds available:

Never, ever let a therapist use strip wax on your bikini line. You really need to find a salon that uses Perron Rigot hot wax. It's the best on the market and is far less painful.
