I'm bored of my wardrobe - any suggestions?

I need inspiration! I'm a primary school teacher with a leadership role so I need to look both professional and practical.

My current wardrobe is skinny black trousers with a smart top or jumper and scarf, or some short skirts with thick tights, jumpers and a scarf. I've also got a couple of shift dresses.

I'm 5"4, size 12. I'm so bored - I want to enjoy clothes again. Any ideas?

Hmm …

You surely won’t want to wear skinny black trousers through Spring and Summer? And shift dresses are not really fashionable at the moment. So you could look for some neutral (beige / navy / khaki) chinos in a newer shape. And maybe a shirt dress? A lightweight jacket would add gravitas.

Have you exhausted:

& Other Stories
Uniqlo (particularly the collaborations with designers).
Cos
Arket (Highly regarded, quite joyful work wear.)
Community Clothing
Toast (some questionable design decisions but you might see something you like).

Or would you prefer a higher price point / slightly more niche design?

Oh - all online for inspiration / browsing.

Someone on here suggested a book ‘the curated closet’ by Anuschka Rees which I have purchased and would also recommend. Some really good ideas in here

@Edmontine I tend to go from black skinnies to black/white/khaki 3/4 length capri pants.

Thank you for the suggestions. Am trawling the internet but not finding any inspiration - I need some colour!

I’ve been the same, not quite shifted the baby weight a year on & not quite knowing my style and getting bored of my wardrobe.

I’ve gone through and either sold, donated or put away things and then used a combo of Instagram and Thread to have a look at different things. I’ve also had a Stitch Fix parcel through which gives me ideas of things I might not normally have picked out or shops I don’t normally look at.
