Am 32 this year

Have had same hairstyle since I was 7. Long with a fringe.

Saw This Morning today (how crap is Julian Clary btw?) and they were giving women with long hair the chop, some looked fab with swishy new locks, all shiny and healthy.

I'm thinking 2008, new do and all? Whadya reckon?

Tutter · 04/01/2008 21:47

or mid 30s if you look old

mylittleponey · 04/01/2008 21:48

chocolatespiders · 04/01/2008 21:48

BBBee · 04/01/2008 21:48

DrNortherner · 04/01/2008 21:49

I'm 34 and my hair is fucking fabulous long and makes me look younger apparently! Be proud of your tresses. Mind you I ditched the fringe a long time ago. Maybe just a different styled 'do'?

southeastastra · 04/01/2008 21:50

i'm 38. mine is longish.

longer hair is more flattering when older i find.

kindersurprise · 04/01/2008 21:50

I always said that I would cut my hair short when I turned 30.

Still had long hair last summer (at 34), then got it cut shorter. Now have a slightly graduated bob (not pob) bit longer at the front but shorter at the back.

I think if, like me, you have thin hair then it looks better when you wear it shorter, as your hair tends to thin out a bit when you get older. (or is that just me?)

LoveMyGirls · 04/01/2008 21:51

cropped short = old! My mum is 48 and has lvoely long hair and people cannot believe her age!

speak2deb · 04/01/2008 21:51

I'm almost 37 and have long hair. I don;t have much grey yet and have decided that I'll have to get it cut when the grey gets too much, so I'm going to enjoy it while I can.

gingerninja · 04/01/2008 21:51

But on your pics it (your hair) and you look gorgeous. I just had mine chopped off because I was sick of it, it was fine and scraggly and did nothing for me. Having shorter hair is soooo much harder to manage. I have to blow dry it now. nightmare

Minum · 04/01/2008 21:52

Love my long hair. And know a couple of women in their 60s/70s who look fab with long hair, so I'm keeping it

dirtygertiefromnumber30 · 04/01/2008 21:52

i vote having a change because youve had the same haircut for 25 years (rather than the fact youre in your 30's iykwim)

(ps also watched this morning with JC - C.RIIINGE!!)

janeite · 04/01/2008 21:52

Mrs Badger has just told me to cut mine off on another thread; I am 37.

Maybe you should try growing out the fringe first, then making your mind up after that?

But don't pay any attention to be because I know nothing of these things and have been known to still wear pigtails at times.

suwoo · 04/01/2008 21:53

I am 32 with long hair, but it was short since I was 17 so will NEVER cut it, not even when I am one of those weirdy old ladies. I think I look OK though, think there is a pic on my profile.

Just looked at your pic - Dont cut your hair, you look fab! Maybe get a different type of fringe or grow it out have layers or something but don't cut your hair off!

DrNortherner · 04/01/2008 21:54

Noooooo, I'm not giving up me fringe. TRied that once and looked awful.

The fringe stays.

Ozymandius · 04/01/2008 21:54

Your hair is lovely and you look about 17. Keep it. Long hair is much easier to manage.

candypandy · 04/01/2008 21:55

ditch the fringe maybe..?
i heard that women over a certain age (hem hem) are "allowed" (hem hem hem) to have hair that goes down to the bottom of their bra strap, you know, where it joins on to the cup, otherwise it looks too long. Something to do with proportion.

Izzybel · 04/01/2008 21:55

I'm 24 and my mum keeps going on and on and on at me that I'm too old for long hair! I say all the celebs pay hundreds for hair extentions so why get it cut? Jennifer Anniston has long hair, Angelina has long hair, etc. If you like your hair long keep it! You can always get it cut into a different style without losing length. Maybe grow your fringe out or something if you're board of it. Julian Clary is crap isn't he! Bring back phil!!!

dinny · 04/01/2008 21:55

God, don't have an old-ladies' short cut whatever you do!

a shorter bob thing is good but I think long hair keeps you looking younger, if it's in good condition and you aren't an old bat!

Izzybel · 04/01/2008 21:56

Sorry x-post keep the fringe then!
