What are you all wearing to work dinners?

I’ve forgotten how to dress! Now Covid seems to be sorted, my workplace has put on a dinner in.a venue that also hosts weddings (to give some idea of context).

I’m guessing smartish, maybe LBD? Do people still wear these?! And shoes- I usually wear black Chelsea boots but am thinking about dusting off my old black heels. Is that too much?

I was just having exactly the same thought, I don't know what to wear for any smartish social event anymore.

I generally have worn some sort of body condition or fitted dress and heels but that seems very dated to me now. However, less fitted clothes and flats seem frumpy to my middle aged eyes.

How about an evening jumpsuit? Most f the usual suspects do them -- Coast, Karen Millen, Jigsaw, Boden, Anthropologie etc.

I wore a black evening jumpsuit and it was perfect! Everyone else wore a mix of black dresses and smart things, pretty demure really. I needn't have worried. I wore heeled shiny black boots but other women were in heels. Good to know for next time, thanks for advice!
