Red lipstick for my mid life crisis

Looking to update my look, and revisit the red lippy days of my yoooth. Okay, let’s call it for what it is, I’m having a style crisis as I’ve hit 50 and about to start a new job after a really crap time.

Cool complexion, green eyes, grey hair (was a clear Spring many moons ago).

Been looking at Lisa Eldridge true velvet which seems to fit the brief. Any others that could be contenders? Ideally I want to buy online rather than trawl the counters.

Do you want matt or glossy?

MAC Red, Russian Red are true reds that I think would suit you.
I love red lipstick.

There's a nice double ended chanel one that lasts ages

Ooh I’ll check out the Channel & MAC one. I’ve found MAC can be quite drying.

Matt or glossy? I like the conditioning affect of gloss but maybe too much for daytime.

On the budget front, Top Shop Rio Rio is excellent.

Seconding Mac Russian Red. It's the only Red I (occasionally) use. It is a bit drying, but I blot it and add a layer of lip balm.

Dior 999 red. Suits everybody. If you get the liner and use it under the lipstick as a base, it lasts and lasts.

Get yourself to a Chanel counter. They do the best reds.

I've always liked the sound of Dior 999.

Like the sound of 999 too. Okay a few more options, will have to motivate myself to go to some counters.

Honestly, it’s brilliant. And I’ve tried them all. There are lots of others that are nice in colour but the formula just doesn’t compete.

Charlotte Tilbury So Red I also like.

I love red lipstick. Always wear it, Rimmel is good for a budget option, Chanel always good for reds. I've also bought some lovely red lipsticks from rouje the French clothing company, they also do make up.

Nars Power matte Liquid lipsticks Starwoman. I love their velvet lip glide which is glossy but don’t know if it’s available in the Uk. They have an Air Matte which I haven’t tried but has some beautiful reds.
Mac Ruby Woo is awesome.

Dior's 999 for me. It comes in different finishes, I'm loving the metallic one atm.
Also Charlotte Tilbury's 'red carpet red' is lovely.

Not drying
Not fully mat but not too glossy
And the red pigment supposedly matches every skin shade or tone
My favourite for the last few years
It's not super expensive and a little goes a long way x
