Anybody else any experience of these? Are they worth price tag?

I have one. Don’t really think it’s any better than many other powder shadows.

MichelleScarn · 08/03/2022 21:07

Am sure Avon do a dupe if you wanted to try first?

Avon are just as good

BlackSwan · 09/03/2022 08:57

There will be 1-2 colours you love & the other two you won't. You'll end up addicted to the ones you use... then eventually they will discontinue it & you'll be bereft.

I find them too hard. I like the MAC pallets so you can fill/refill them with the shades you want.

Flexitarian · 09/03/2022 09:18

I bought them for my wedding. They don’t seem to have much pigment in them. I much prefer the Ted Baker eyeshadow I was given as a Christmas present.

DeoForty · 09/03/2022 09:28

I like them. They are quite subtle and the colours are all part of the whole 'look'. Lisa Eldridge used to do a video of how to apply them every time they released a new one.

ethelredonagoodday · 09/03/2022 09:33

I've had them before and as other have said, they're nice, but on reflection don't think they're better than other, more reasonably priced brands.

I do have a Chanel eyeliner though, which has lasted and lasted, and is a lovely metallic dark blue.

CowsAreNotGreen · 09/03/2022 09:34

If you like every colour then go for it. They usually do a limited edition one for summer. They aren't usually that pigmented but are really good for the everyday sophisticated look. The Avon dupes aren't the same for me the shadows don't perform the same.

I'm pretty sure the Avon ones are just a dupe as they look the same, I very much doubt that they apply the same. More of a knock off than a dupe. Chanel do amazing eyeshadows but it really depends what you want, if you're after really bright make up like UD Naked Heat style and false lashes then I don't think it will be your bag, but if you're after a more sophisticated smudgy look then you'll love them. I don't go for the current trend of cut creases, halo eyes etc.. I'm very much into gently shading the crease, nude to medium shade all over the eyelid and a bit of ivory on my brow bone and corners of my eye. I own quite a few of their old palettes and they are so nice. I have one newer palette (226 Tisse rivoli) in taupes and browns and its a great everyday quad. I like them them because they have a mix of mattes, satins and micro shimmers. I hate all mattes.
Gonnagetgoing · 09/03/2022 15:47

I have an old chanel quad (silvers, black and blues) and blurry green too.

I use the latter more than the first one.

I prefer Dior 5 coleurs and have 2-3 of these.

Boood · 09/03/2022 16:12

I hankered after one for years, and bought one as soon as the cost wasn’t too scary. Found it quite disappointing- not very strongly pigmented. I like Bobbi Brown shadow- it’s strongly pigmented, and the mix and match palettes mean you can replace the colours you use most without wasting the others.

CinnamonJellyBeans · 09/03/2022 21:16

I like them, as they blend well and the shades complement each other

Deathraystare · 10/03/2022 09:46

I prefer the Dior ones though I never spend much on shadows now. I found the Chanel ones 'gritty'.

BusterGonad · 10/03/2022 11:03

As we're on the subject of eyeshadows I have recently purchased a Buberry single eyeshadow in Pale Barley. It was on offer on a local sale site. It's quite nice, the type you'd just wear on its own for a touch of definition. I especially like it with a jewel toned green eyeliner. Next month I'm going to buy Rose Wood and Porcelain. They reformulated them a few years ago and the old formula can be found at cut prices.
