Best Shapewear tights

My rescheduled work Christmas party is at the end of this month and, as I haven't had a night out in years (literally), I am going all out.
I've treated myself to a new dress and now need some shapewear.

I will be wearing tights, so thought I'd kill two birds with one stone and wear some shapewear tights. I'm a size 12, with nice legs, and a narrowish waist, but unfortunately a bit of a pot belly. Just want something that smooths things out a bit.
Any recommendations for tights, or shapewear in general that is budget friendly?

Snag has been fab for me, have you tried it?

I would go for a control slip with regular tights. More comfortable and easier when you want a wee.

No, I haven't tried Snag, although seen them advertise a lot. Might give them a go as have seen a few recommendations.

I have Snag and Heist tights. I don’t find Snag especially shaping, Heist are better for that and they are my favourite in general (though also more expensive).

I just clicked on this wondering whether anyone had a cheaper answer than Heist but no. Heist are amazing. I recently bought 6 pairs of Snags and I thought they were just OK (don't get me wrong, decent for the price and better than M&S/supermarket tights) and wished I'd just bought 2 pairs of Heists instead.

& Other Stories used to do some called Shaping Tights (normal 50 denier tights with a nice high shaping waistband) which were really good but I think they have stopped.
