Came home from the hairdresser crying today. Had COVID in December, got my hair dyed January and had a reaction - burnt feeling on my scalp and ear, redness and itchiness. My salon said to wait a while and try another patch test. I held off as long as I could but I'm getting very self conscious about my roots so went back today. They had me sitting in to keep an eye while they did the patch test. They put big globs of the colour on my inner elbow and I reacted. Absolutely gutted. I have big self esteem issues and my hair was one thing really boosted my confidence.
I've been Googling and henna looks like it might be an option. I'm a natural red head and only started colouring my hair about 5 years ago when I started properly losing my colour and getting a few greys. My salon colour is very close to my original auburn.
So I'm wondering if it would be ok to use henna over dyed hair and, more specifically, over dyed ends and about an inch of dyed, natural roots?
