OK so my daughter has picked the most beautiful perfect prom dress, however she is struggling to decide on shoes! The lady in the shop said she puts silver with everything as it just works but my daughters not sure lol. She's a size 4 shoes, doesn't want too high a heel and they must be block heel not stiletto so she can walk in them comfortably......anyone any colour or shoe recommendations?????? She has a budget of £60 thanks to her nana!

I have attached pics just cos I have to show her off cos she's so beautiful and I'm so proud! I'm gonna drive her mad come prom night taking endless pics 🤣🤣

My daughter wore sparkly trainers! Meant she could dance all night without getting sore feet or worrying about not being able to walk in heels, with a dress like that you won't even see what's on her feet anyway?

I'd go black heels, but like the trainers idea also.

She looks so pretty hope she has a wonderful prom.

Well they aren't really going to be seen much under the frock are they!

DD got hers from a charity shop for £4. I was so impressed with her friends and her. They all bought stuff off ebay, rarely spending more than £40. DD bought new from Asos £45 Grin.

It was a wonderful evening, the photos are fab. Parents were involved at drinks in the tent first.

She looks gorgeous! And yeah, I’d go for comfort over style tbh - even if they have to be platform trainers for the length of the dress! Nothing worse than tottering around on heels and having blisters when you should be enjoying yourself.

Mind got a pair of cherry Dr Marten boots, broke them in, and wore them with a similar dress in burgundy. Quite a few in her year chose Vans or Docs.

I ordered a few different pairs from Next for dd, she code gold as her dress is emerald green and she has a gold bag too, if the dress doesn’t need the length altering be careful how high the shoes are, dd needs about 8 inches off of hers.

Dd also considered her docs ☺️

I thought they all wore trainers to proms now?

fleurpots · 07/03/2022 09:21

She looks beautiful - I think silver or nude!

She looks beautiful and it's a lovely dress.
What about New Look? My DD unfortunately didn't have her Y11 prom but is having Y13 (though apparently they all wear short dresses for that at her school, was hoping to see her in a long gown). They have some nice shimmery block heels in silver, gold, black, pink.

I didn't say though, I think silver would look super dependent on her jewellery.
