For my big boobed ladies

Where do you get your bras from?

I can't seem to get it right. I always end up with one boob making it's escape or then riding up and the bra holds my nipples hostage.

I seem to find the odd good bra but if someone could tell me somewhere that's pretty consistent that would be great!

Thank you :)

Don't know where "boobed" came from Grin

Bravissimo, it’s worth going into a shop if there’s one near you

Footnote · 06/03/2022 20:36

Freya (30G), but check out Reddit’s abrathatfits for the ultimate recommendations.

PartyPlan · 06/03/2022 20:36

Second Bravissimo

BoodleBug51 · 06/03/2022 20:39

I went for a measure in a small local independent shop. And was truly horrified..... I'd been wearing the wrong size most of my life.

Once you've got a right bra on in the right size..... it's a true Hallelujah moment. No sweaty underband or mono-boob, and no sticking in wires/digging in shoulders. I mainly stick to Triumph minimisers, and Glamorise underwired ones these days, and will splurge every so often on something from Prima Donna.

Fernsinthegarden · 06/03/2022 20:39

Love Freya bras, I’ve always had most luck in independent bra shops so perhaps a search for one local to you?
I do however wax lyrical about sainsburys bras if you know your size, I’ve had a couple from there that have been brilliant.

Spellfish · 06/03/2022 20:40

Bravissimo. Then if money is tight, stock up on the one that Bravissimo fitted you in cheap on Brastop or Amazon. But Bravissimo for the fitting, and I do like to give them business if I can as they’re so great.

singlepringlenotbychoice · 06/03/2022 20:40

Definitely bravissimo. Once you get fitted there you can look else where for the correct size.

The style/shape of bra will also make a massive difference. I only really wear balconette style bras as they suit my shape the best.

BlackCoffeeInAPoolOfSunshine · 06/03/2022 20:48

You need to try a lot on to find out which style suits you as well as size. Different body shapes suit different bra styles which have not only different cup shapes but different strap placement etc etc. Obviously different brands come up different size wise but so do different styles within a brand. For that reason finding your ideal bra online is extremely frustrating and potentially expensive if you're not ruthless and patient about returning...

I hate being sold to and think you need to be unhurried to try bras on (try an unforgiving top over it when you think you have the right one) so actually preferred to try on in a big department store which stocked Freya and Por Moi and Panash etc. at a quiet time rather than an "intimate" small specialist store with fitters. That's personal preference though. Before that I had a lot of false starts buying online and keeping things that were "okay" out of frustration. Expensive waste. Far better to go for one massive trying on session then when you finally find your style and size buy one, wear it for a really long day to be completely sure, then go back and buy or order 4 or 5 more identical ones Grin

Another vote for Bravissimo, especially if you can get to a shop for a fitting

harriethoyle · 06/03/2022 20:50

Another vote for Freya - really comfy and a great shape

Kleptronic · 06/03/2022 21:03

Freya absolutely. I'm not big at 34 DD but all my best fitting bras and sports bras are Freya. I have had terrible 34 DDs from Marksies in normal and sports bras - they just don't fit properly, overspilling balcony bras (Rosie for Autograph I'm looking at you!) and a peculiar lack of space in the centre with the sports bras, causing a painful monoboob.

What am I doing wrong that I can't find anything on Amazon or Brastop that is Bravissimo own brand?
Takingabreakagain · 06/03/2022 21:15

@BridgesofMadisonfan

You'll only find Bravissimo brand in their shop or on line. They sell other brands though which you can also find on brastop etc

Spellfish · 06/03/2022 21:20

@BridgesofMadisonfan Sorry, should have said only if it’s a brand. I wear Freya / Fantasie as that’s what fits me, which Bravissimo stock but which other places sell cheaper.

waitingfor2021 · 06/03/2022 22:36

I got fitted at an independent shop and picked a Freya bra they stock- then the same style in different colours when I saw it on offer.
Short term Expensive but worth every penny- every outfit looked better with a good fitting bra.

ChocolateChocolateEverywhere · 06/03/2022 22:39

Bravissimo. But Rigby and Peller if you can afford them! I can't any more, so Bravissimo do a great job for me. I've tried elsewhere but they've been a waste of money because I can't wear them.

Doyouthinkeirsaurus · 06/03/2022 22:49

I’ve had very little luck with Bravissimo, and in a moment of desperation visited my local expensive underwear shop. They were amazing, spent several hours there. They ordered in matching knickers and sent them on to me FOC. The brand that fitted me perfectly is Empreinte, they are a French brand, and they just seem to fit my shape (32 F and only 5’2) perfectly. Be prepared to pay in the region of £100, I have had my first two bras for 5 years now and they still look like new, they are so beautiful yet totally comfortable.
